The official identity
We
are
26.
Unveiled May 17, 2023 at Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles. The first World Cup emblem to feature the actual trophy. The first since 1990 to omit the words “World Cup.”
The emblem
A stacked numeric 26 — the 2 set above the 6 — with a photo-realistic rendering of the FIFA World Cup Trophy locked in front, and the FIFA wordmark below.
The 26 numerals are the color-customizable slot: per host city and (eventually) per nation, a single accent color animates into them. The trophy and FIFA wordmark stay constant.
Designed by Public Address, a Toronto-based studio whose prior work includes the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 emblem and the LA28 Olympic identity.
The brand-reveal show in Los Angeles was staged by Moment Factory and This Is Catapult, ending with a drone formation that animated the emblem over the Hollywood Hills and listed all sixteen host cities in the sky.
Typography
Custom event display face FWC2026 (also called FWC26) — squared, condensed, design-registered and IP-protected per the FIFA Brand Guidelines v2.0.
Secondary face: Noto Sans, paired for body copy and multi-script coverage (Arabic, CJK, Latin).
Anton as the open-source stand-in for FWC2026 (squared condensed display), with Inter on body copy. Noto Sans Arabic / JP / KR are loaded for player names in those scripts.
We don’t redistribute FWC2026 here — Anton matches the silhouette without infringing the registered face.
Palette
The tournament default is black + white + a trophy-gold accent. That neutrality is deliberate: the official mark is color-agnostic by design, and the “26” numerals host a different color skin for every host city and every competing nation. There is no single tournament color beyond the trophy itself.
FIFA has not published an official hex for trophy gold; the value above (#C9A24B) is derived from the photographed trophy in the emblem. Per-host-city accents (Dallas teal, Miami pink, LA wave-blue, and so on) are visible in design-press imagery but not published at hex level.
The slogan
WE ARE 26.
Gianni Infantino described it as a rallying cry. The campaign vehicle for host-city portraits, faces and locations across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Asset system
The stacked 26 with locked trophy.
FIFA + the 26 graphic at smaller scale.
Repeating colored 26 icons — the wallpaper backdrop animated at reveal.
A geometric pattern derived from the emblem’s construction.
A combined three-host composition.
The numerals themselves, treated as a standalone mark.
