Pedri is the bridge between Rodri’s deep platform and the wide attackers — the player who collects from Cubarsí, beats the first line with two touches, and feeds Yamal in the half-space. His left foot does the bulk of the work but he is genuinely two-footed in tight spaces. The injuries that bookended his early career are the only reason this Spain side feels mortal; with a fit Pedri available for seven matches, they look like the tournament favourite De la Fuente quietly believes they are.
Strengths
- one-touch turning out of pressure
- vertical line-breaking passes
- near-elite stamina once fit
- press-trigger reading
Recent form
Healthy across 2025-26 and central to Barcelona's title push; goal contributions up from his early-career numbers.
His Barcelona transfer fee was reportedly €5m up front — Las Palmas could see add-ons take it to ~€20m total. In hindsight, possibly the steepest discount in modern transfer history.
