Jahanbakhsh is Iran’s veteran wide threat, the player whose Dutch and Belgian seasoning has given him a tactical understanding few in this squad can match. With Sardar Azmoun missing from the squad, Jahanbakhsh becomes the second-most-experienced attacker behind Taremi.
His right-wing partnership with Taremi has produced moments throughout qualifying, and at 32 he is still capable of decisive end product. Whether starting or coming off the bench, expect his set-piece delivery to be central to Iran’s chance creation in tight games.
Strengths
- Two-footed wing play
- Set-piece delivery
- Big-game experience
